Race info: This year’s Egg Run offers three events for runners to choose from: a 5K Run, a 5K Walk, and a 10K Run.  There will also be a 1K Kids Run for runners 13 and under.  The Egg Run has always provided a welcoming environment for participants of all skill levels. Open to the entire community to walk or run at their own pace, we keep the friendly nature of this event by offering a random draw prize give-away for all participants, as well as a complementary post-race Omelette breakfast.  Named in the 2014 Top 10 “Best Races to Do With Your Kids” by Active.com, and in the 2016 Runner’s World “Bucket List: 10 Races for the Whole Family,” this race is guaranteed to be an enjoyable event for the entire family.

Some logistics: Parking for the Egg Run is available only a short walk from the start/finish line on River Road.  Please park at BFA Fairfax (75 Hunt Street, Fairfax VT 05454).  The school also has facilities that runners and their families will have access too.  There will be ample signage to help runners find their way to the start/finish line.

Course description: The 5K course is flat and is out and back to the Fairfax Falls dam, appealing to recreational runners and walkers out for fun, or to speedsters seeking a personal best.  The 10K course continues past the dam up a large hill, followed by a flat stretch past the scenic River Berry Farm.  The course continues up a small hill, Chafee Road, into a shady wooded descent down Shepardson Hollow Road before returning to River Road and the finish line. All roads are either Asphalt or hard packed dirt surfaces.
